For Oasis Group, that moment arrived with AAGHAAZ.
For more than two decades, the company has established itself as one of India's significant spirits producers, building a portfolio that spans whiskies, rums, vodkas, brandies, gins, and ready-to-drink beverages. Founded in 2001, Oasis Group has grown from a single distillery near Indore into a multi-facility spirits company with a presence across approximately 18 Indian states, alongside exports to international markets. It is also a long-standing supplier to the Canteen Stores Department (CSD), giving many of its brands nationwide reach.

Its name, which translates to "a beginning," reflects Oasis Group's entry into India's increasingly competitive premium single malt category. Rather than expanding an existing whisky label, the company chose to create an entirely new identity, one designed to celebrate Indian craftsmanship while reflecting the growing global appreciation for Indian single malt whisky. According to Oasis Group, AAGHAAZ marks "the beginning of a new chapter in Indian single malt whisky," built around authenticity, craftsmanship, and a strong sense of origin.
Crafted from malted barley, AAGHAAZ is distilled before being matured in carefully selected oak casks, developing a profile that combines vanilla, honey, dried fruits, gentle spice, and a lingering oak finish. The result is intended to deliver a smooth, balanced whisky that appeals both to seasoned enthusiasts and to consumers discovering India's rapidly evolving premium whisky landscape.
From malting and mashing through fermentation, copper pot distillation, and oak maturation, Oasis Group highlights each stage as fundamental to shaping the whisky's final character. Rather than presenting AAGHAAZ simply as another premium release, the company positions it as a whisky that combines established distillation techniques with contemporary Indian craftsmanship and presentation.

Promotional materials released by the company describe AAGHAAZ as beginning "amidst the ancient peaks of the Shivalik foothills, where pristine waters meet the patient watch of the wild, matured by the cold Himalayan air." While poetic in tone, the message reflects the brand's broader effort to establish a distinctly Indian narrative rather than borrowing heavily from traditional Scotch whisky imagery.
Over the past decade, Indian single malts have moved from being an emerging category to becoming recognised competitors on the global stage. International competitions have increasingly rewarded Indian producers for quality, while premium consumers have become more willing to explore whiskies that express regional identity rather than simply emulate established whisky-producing nations.

Having established itself within India's mainstream spirits market, the company has identified premiumisation as a key area for future growth. AAGHAAZ represents an important milestone within that strategy, signalling Oasis Group's intention to participate more actively in the premium and luxury whisky segment while continuing its domestic expansion and international ambitions.
The expertise developed over years of producing spirits has been channelled into a whisky designed for a different audience, one increasingly interested in provenance, craftsmanship, and premium Indian products. Instead of treating single malt as a departure from its business, Oasis Group presents it as the natural progression of its journey.
Every beginning carries with it the weight of what came before and the promise of what comes next. For Oasis Group, AAGHAAZ is more than a new whisky. It is the company's statement of intent within one of the world's fastest-growing premium spirits categories.
As Indian single malt continues to earn recognition beyond its home market, brands such as AAGHAAZ demonstrate how the category is evolving. Built on traditional production methods, presented through a contemporary Indian identity, and supported by an established spirits producer, it represents another step in the continuing story of Indian whisky's rise on the global stage.
